Q1 Training: Tell Us How You Applied It

Pick whichever feels easiest. 3โ€“5 minutes is plenty. We're not grading this, we just want to hear from you.

Back in Q1, we spent the day working through what it really means to shift from doing the work yourself to leading through others, starting with the managers who shaped you, then getting honest about the tension of stepping into the role, and digging into what actually makes your own team members tick. We talked through where to draw the line between what's yours to own and when to loop in HR, how to catch issues early before they become fires, and what we're calling the HSNY leadership standard: the way we want every manager here to consistently show up for their people. You also left with a personal commitment: one specific thing you said you'd change or practice with your team.

A few things to touch on

  • The commitment you made in "Own It": what was it, and how did it actually go?
  • How you've been putting what you know about your team (their strengths, workstyles, what motivates them) into practice, especially in your one-on-ones
  • A moment where you had to decide what was yours to handle versus when to bring in HR or leadership, and how you navigated it
